My Approach & Philosophy

I’m a licensed therapist in Ohio with a Master of Social Work from West Virginia University. I work with children (ages 7 and up), teens, and adults who are navigating life’s challenges—whether that means trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or major transitions.

My path to becoming a therapist started long before graduate school. As a teenager, I struggled with anxiety and depression and learned firsthand how powerful it can be to have someone simply listen and help make sense of what feels impossible. That experience shaped my belief that no one is ever too far gone—there is always hope and always another day. Helping others see that truth is the most fulfilling part of my work.

Over the years, I’ve served in a variety of settings—outpatient therapy, school-based programs, hospice care, correctional systems, crisis care, and juvenile court partnerships. Across each of those experiences, one thing has stayed constant: my commitment to creating safe, compassionate spaces where people can process, heal, and grow.

What I love most about working with my clients is witnessing people reconnect with their strength—often at moments when they feel the most broken or unsure of themselves. I value the trust clients place in me and feel honored to walk alongside them as they process, heal, and grow. Seeing small shifts turn into meaningful change is incredibly rewarding.

I believe healing is not about “fixing” what’s wrong, but about understanding yourself more deeply and learning how to move forward with compassion and intention. Therapy is a collaborative process grounded in safety, connection, and curiosity. Growth happens when people feel seen, supported, and empowered to make changes at their own pace.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I draw from evidence-based approaches like CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and DBT-informed skills. But above all, I believe in the power of authentic connection and trust between therapist and client. My role is to walk alongside you—not ahead of you—helping you build insight, skills, and confidence to create meaningful change.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband, our three cats, and my family. I find joy in traveling, especially with my husband, sharing coffee with friends, and taking mini trips with my mom and sister. I also enjoy listening to my dad words of wisdom and continuing to learn and grow professionally through ongoing trainings that fuel my curiosity and strengthen my practice. More than anything, I try to slow down and appreciate the small, meaningful moments of connection that remind us why healing matters.
